Mary Ellen Harned, MA
Executive Director

Mary Ellen Harned joined the agency as Executive Director in November 2004 after more than twenty-five years’ experience in education and non-profit management, most recently as Director of the Access Center Partnership. She earned the Specialist in Education degree from Spalding University, in addition to her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MA from the University of Hawaii.

Donald Palmore
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Palmore has been with the agency since 1996. He holds a BA in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BS in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Louisville. He has been an active participant in the Louisville AIDS Walk and has organized and participated in numerous fundraisers to benefit the Glade House and the Crusade for Children.

Becky Smith, MSSW, Registered Guardian
Director of Fiduciary Services

Ms. Smith has been with GuardiaCare since 1995. She received her MSSW from the Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville where she currently serves as a Field Practicum Liaison. She is also a Registered Guardian with the National Guardianship Association and a Certified Social Worker.

Jan Smith, RN
Director of Adult Day Health Services

Ms. Smith has been with GuardiaCare since 2004. She is a registered nurse with 35 years of experiences including: bedside nursing, management of Transitional Care Unit, recovery room nurse, employee health nurse, staff development, and education for nursing. She also holds a certificate of ministry from Spalding University.

Diane Richey
Director of Development and Public Relations

Diane Richey joined GuardiaCare in September 2007 as Director of Development and Public Relations. Diane comes to GuardiaCare from the business community where she has spent 25 years in development and promotions of non-profits as a board member and volunteer. She has a BSW in Social Work and Journalism from Ball State University. Her Masters work has been in Business and Counseling Psychology at Webster University.

Rachelle Wallace-Krank
Manager Caregiver Services

Mrs. Wallace-Krank joined GuardiaCare in August 2007. She holds a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Gerontology from Carson-Newman College. She has 14 years experience as a Case Manager and Patient Advocate.

Sandy Roberts
Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Director, Sandy Roberts, joined GuardiaCare in May. She has many years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Marketing Coordinator, and Contract Manager in for-profit businesses. After 11 years away from her hometown, she is happy to be back in Louisville again and excited to be working for GuardiaCare Services in the non-profit business world.

Edie Allen has been with GuardiaCare since mid-2006. She completed her bachelors in Psychology at the University of Minnesota and received her Masters in Child and Family Counseling from the University of Miami of Ohio. She has spent the last 20+ years in both the profit and non-profit sectors directing and developing programs, business and individuals.
